Ingredients

For the Dhel

1 medium dhel (breadfruit)

½ teaspoon turmeric

Salt to taste

For the Tempered Fry

2–3 tbsp oil

1 chopped onion

3–4 garlic cloves (chopped)

½–1 scotch bonnet (chopped, optional)

A handful of curry leaves

Small piece pandan leaf

Small piece cinnamon

2 cardamom pods

2 cloves

1 tsp chili powder

1–2 tsp chili flakes

Salt to taste

Juice of ½ lime

Method

Cut the dhel into cubes.

Add turmeric and salt.

Steam until soft but still firm.
